Women's Sports
24th of March 2022
I didn't have to try too hard to come up with a title to get attention for this article. Nobody knows what this is about other than women's sports. However, which sport? Is it about pay equality? Is it about which is the superior gender? Is it about fairness as far as the amenities that men get compared to women? This article is about that and more.
It's about why society only pays attention to women's sports when they don't like something. Instead of the accomplishments made by women along the way, the talk of the town becomes controversies that really shouldn't be controversies. There's a whole list of all the controversies. Let's start off with what's available to women athletes. They started off with smaller locker rooms and training facilities. Men would get an entire gym whereas women would be lucky to get a room the size of a guest bedroom. Men get an entire track to do laps on. Women would have to run around the block risking getting attacked by men howling at them. It took years for women to get the same facilities to train and get ready for athletic events. It didn't happen until around the turn of the century.
Let's talk about pay equality. The common argument is that men's sports makes more money. Ok, it does. However, in order to make money, one has to spend money. It's called risk. Nobody has stepped up to spend the money on women's sports like they do for men's sports. Look at the Super Bowl. Companies spend billions on it. Nobody (and by this, I mean businesses and society) gives women a chance to succeed as much as men. I guarantee if women had the same opportunity, they would thrive.
And no gender is more superior. Everyone is different. There are women I could win against in a tug-of-war contest, and there are women that would make me look foolish. It's the same with every other man. Men are not more superior, but a majority of them would like to believe that they are. Keep in mind that it's women that give birth, and it takes them hours of pain to do such.
And the last one. Why are people all of the sudden interested in women's sports when transgender women want to compete in women's sports? It seems fitting that trans gender women deserve to compete in a sport that they love. They're making the transition to becoming a woman, and in my opinion, there was never an advantage for males over females. Some females are stronger than males. I only hear men complaining about transgender women competing in sports.
Let's face it. Men are scared of losing their control over women. Why do they need that control? My boss is female. I don't have a problem with that. She's very fitting for the job. However, some people at my work are intimidated by her. She is very knowledgeable about her job and even other people's jobs. I think that's where the fear comes from. They see her as a threat, and they do everything to try and sabotage her. I feel that's happening in women's sports. Men want to try and control women. Always have and always will want to control them.
I've always watched women's sports. When I watch it, I see an actual game. I see women not worrying more about showboating, but worried more about how they conduct themselves playing their sport. When a transgender woman tried to compete, Republican legislators wrote bills to prevent it from happening. They didn't think to ask female athletes. It's wrong on all counts to stop a transgender woman from competing. It's wrong for men to step in on women issues when they have no clue what it's like to be a woman, transgender or not. For fuck sake, it's just a game. Let them play. Transgenders put up with enough shit as it is nowadays, no thanks to hate-filled hearts.
