Heart Walk Always Dear to Me

Heart Walk. One handed is harder than you think.

5th of May 2017

Yes, I did the Heart Walk again this year. Most people know that I will do this every year because my mother died from heart disease. Even though I still blame myself, I feel that more could be done in research for heart disease. I will continue to raise money for the American Heart Association until we find better ways to treat heart disease for all ages. If you would like to donate, here is a link. Any amount would be appreciated. I will do a burpee for every dollar donated. If you want me to do more than burpees, tell me what it is. Keep it clean and within reason though.

The walk itself was a great day with sunshine but a little on the chilly side. It's April in Iowa; you can't expect perfect weather for every run or walk. This was more of a walk than a run, and that was fine with me. I had done a run a couple weeks before this one, so I could use the walk. I still needed to get outside as well. That's what the AHA was really trying to do: get people outside and exercising. I felt it was a great success. Many people walking the streets keeping pace while also raising awareness was a great site for me. There was a run portion for those who wanted to run, but they went first. The AHA Heart Walk divides the runners and walkers the best out of all the runs I've been on.

The Heart Walk will always be one that I do, like I've said many times before. It's dear to me, and I know many people who are affected by heart disease. Many you are affected by heart disease. If you are, my thoughts are with you.
