Who Am I Kidding?! I CAN'T Do It!
10th of November 2016
I should have known better than to think that I would stop talking about the elections. However, I keep hearing more and more from both sides. I can't get behind someone who was elected that has proven to be hateful to many different groups of people. I can't get behind a man who when he doesn't get his way, he pouts and skips a debate. I can't get behind a man who belittled Muslims, immigrants, women, people with disabilities, just to name a few groups. I don't have a problem with some of his failures because that's how we learn. Abraham Lincoln has a long list of failures (CLICK HERE FOR THE LIST), but he is considered one of the greatest Presidents we've had. We all have our failures. However, when Trump University is under investigation, I see an unfit person filling in a position he shouldn't be. When he is set to go to trial for various abuse charges, I don't want him in charge of this country. I won't bring up the other candidate because I think we've seen the last of her since she wasn't elected.
I know I'll get a bunch of people telling me what others did wrong. Let's get one thing straight. In January of next year, Trump is going to be sworn in as President. President Obama had the hard job of trying to bring a country together that wanted to stay divided. To be honest, when I hear people call President Obama names, I just want to walk away. Most of the time, I do. However, if they present it in a way where it's not confrontational, I'll stick around and listen. It's called being an adult. This nation is even more divided. Trump needs to find a way to fix that, and I'm not convinced that he is ready or willing to do that. If he does, BOTH sides need to give it full effort. This society can't go on the way it is now. I don't care if you like President Obama. You don't have to. I don't have to like Trump. However, when Trump goes into office, I won't spew the poison that many have spewed to President Obama. I won't do most of what was done to President Obama. As I said in my last article, I won't call Trump "Mr. President." Again, if you had a problem calling President Obama that, you cannot be mad at me for that.
I used to love this country. I don't know anymore. I won't give up on it though. I won't let people ruin what many people have fought for. I also won't let people forget the atrocities we've caused to other countries or our own people. If we're a country that's free for all, we should start acting like it.
