Should I Worry About What's Inside the Fog?

16th of February 2016

We always have foggy days. Sometimes, it's a cold day turning into a warmer day. Sometimes, it's a dry day about to turn humid to where perspiration happens instantly. Either way, our vision is clouded by a thick mist in the air. Fog can be a beautiful thing, but it can also make us think what lies ahead. Since our vision becomes distorted, we wonder how we should proceed. Yes, this is becoming an analogy. It might be a weird one, and I hope to be able to make sense of it.

Above in the picture is from outside of my work. I normally see the Des Moines skyline, but not this night. I know it's there, but I don't know what the obsticles are getting there. Are the roads slick? Are there accidents? Is traffic bad? Those sort of questions cross my mind. The answer to all of those questions end up being the same: Who cares? Let's get home! We are going to have foggy days, but we forget what's beyond the fog. Our destination or goal, however you want to look at it, is out there. Fog is only temporary, and it will usually lift. However, sometimes we aren't patient enough to wait for it to lift. When I'm not patient enough, I proceed with caution. I realize that when I'm not patient, I'm more likely to make mistakes. However, I know I want what's either inside or on the other side. I'll live to fight another day, or I'll take the chance. Either way, yes, I worry about what's inside the fog, but the one thing I have in my sights is my destination. I can't let fog deter what I'm going to do. If I want it bad enough, I'll make the right decision as to when to go into the fog or let it lift. However, if I don't try, the fog will not be what costed me from getting to what I wanted. It would have been my fault.
